What Is It?

The HERMetic UTImeter GTex N Series is a portable electronic gauging equipment designed for multi-parameter measurement of ullage, temperature, oil-water interface and innage (reference height) of stored hydrocarbons and chemicals in various storage tanks on ships, FPSOs and shore terminals.

For operator safety, the GTex N Series connects exclusively to a HERMetic vapour control valve permanently fixed on the tank. The lightweight, battery-operated design ensures anytime availability at any tank location equipped with a vapour control valve.

The unit features easy battery access, interchangeable adaptors for different vapour control valves, and tape cleaning device, window wiper and tape protection as standard.

HERMetic Onecal Thermometer

Intrinsically safe (Zone 0) portable digital field thermometer for temperature verification inside cargo tanks. Components changeable without special tools. Simple ice point recalibration - no laboratory required. A 1 degree C error equates to approximately 0.1% error in standard volume calculation - Onecal eliminates this risk.

HERMetic Valves - 1-inch, 2-inch and 4-inch

HERMetic valves are the interface between the tank and the GTex N Series. They ensure proper connection and prevent any gas release from the tank during gauging. Available in 1-inch, 2-inch and 4-inch sizes with multiple variants for different applications.

Ballast Water Sampler

Honeywell Tank System's ballast water sampling solution installed on 7,000+ ships worldwide. The sampler GTX enables quick, safe in-tank ballast water sampling for D1 salinity and D2 microbiological analysis - no contamination, no gas release. Zone, spot, bottom and running bottle options available.

High-Pressure Gauging for Shuttle and Parcel Tankers

Shuttle and parcel tanker operators must reduce VOC gas release during loading. Honeywell's high-pressure gauging solution maintains gas tightness at pressures up to 0.7 bar while ensuring intrinsic safety against explosive atmospheres. Includes deck valve, UTImeter, GTX CHEM 0.7 bar sampler, and HERMetic DIP 2 GT.

Adaptors for Foreign Valves

Honeywell provides adaptors and storage tubes for HERMetic GTex N Series gauges for connection on already installed non-Honeywell ball valves onboard. Users can install the GTex N Series on any vessel already equipped with ball valves - without modifying existing tank infrastructure.

Available Adaptors

TS 55000: Connects all HERMetic units with 1-inch quick connect coupling to valves with UNF 2.5-inch connection.
TS 55115: Connects all HERMetic units with 2-inch quick connector to valves with UNF 2.5-inch connection.

Additional special adaptors for MMC International, MMC Asia, TankTech Korea, Seahover Technologies and other legacy valve brands are available on request.

How Does It Work?

To match existing tank tables, it is critical to know the exact type of valves installed onboard and the reference height of the reading index. The GTex N Series, fitted with the correct storage tube, will have the same reading level without any reading index compensation. When fitted with a foreign valve adaptor, a separate grounding strap is required for intrinsic safety compliance.

The special storage tube and adaptors permit easy connection on foreign valves without the need to change already installed ball valves onboard and without any correction of the tank tables - protecting your existing installation investment while gaining the full benefits of the GTex N Series.
